Dr. Rajendra Kumar-Singh is Professor of Developmental, Molecular and Chemical Biologiy at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
Previously, he was the Scientific Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Hemera Biosciences Inc. and the inventor of soluble sCD59 (HMR59) for the treatment of the dry form of age related macular degeneration (geographic atrophy). HMR59 was acquired by Janssen Pharmaceuticals (Johnson and Johnson) and is now known as JNJ-81201887.
Dr. Kumar-Singh completed his PhD at the University of Dublin (Trinity College), Ireland in the field of ocular genetics. Thereafter, he did his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and was then a junior faculty at the UCLA School of Medicine. He then became an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah, followed by a move to Tufts University School of Medicine where he moved through the ranks of Associate Professor and is now a tenured Professor.
Dr. Manish Mishra is a Senior Scientist at Visiogene. Dr. Mishra has extensive experience with animal models of retinal degeneration as well as development and use of recombinant AAV vectors in the context of gene therapy for retinal degeneration. Dr. Mishra graduated from the CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research in India and was a Research Associate at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Thereafter, Manish moved to Tufts University as a Research Associate before moving to industry where he was a key member of the CNS and ocular gene therapy program at PTC Therapeutics, NJ. Dr. Mishra has over 40 peer reviewed publications.
Dr. Tiffany Kolniak is Clinical and Research Advisor to Visiogene. Dr. Kolniak obtained her PhD in the field of Neuroscience from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo, NY. Dr. Kolniak has published in the area of molecular therapies for retinal degeneration, focusing on knock down strategies for autosomal dominant retinal diseases. Dr. Kolniak obtained her medical degree from the University of Buffalo and was a resident at Mount Auburn Hospital prior to joining Tufts Medical Center as a primary care physician. Currently, Dr. Kolniak is a primary care physician at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
